Suzette & Austin's love story: "We met in Feb. 2002, I was 17, and Austin 18. It was love at first sight. Getting to know each other, we found we had grown up 2 houses down from each other and even attended the same elementary and middle schools at the same time but hadn’t met until then. Two months later, Austin left for Basic Training and we lost touch. Then one day out of the blue Austin contacted me once he graduated Tech School in October 2002. He drove to Florida to visit me before heading to his first duty station at Pope AFB in Fayetteville, NC. We picked up right where we left off. I made a drive to Pope AFB on March 15, 2003 for a 2 week visit… and never looked back.
We got engaged in 2005 when Austin returned home from Afghanistan. We lived in Fayetteville for only 3 years and have been stationed at two other bases since, but there is no place like home. We had to be married in the place where we fell in love; so almost 10 years to the day I made that fateful drive, we were married in Fort Bragg, NC… FINALLY!"
Note from the Planner (Pearlice Diggs): "The bride contacted us In June 2012 after finding us via the internet. Suzette stated she was looking for a planner with ties to the military, preferably the Fort Bragg, Pope Air Force Base community to plan her destination wedding. This was important as she needed to secure the Chapel for ceremony and a Military Chaplain to perform the ceremony. As a veteran owned and operated company and military spouse we immediately knew we were a perfect fit to plan and present their wedding. I was able to secure the chapel and the Chaplain for their wedding (The same Military Chaplain that officiated my wedding, December 23, 2000. We have maintained contact over the years and reconnected here at Fort Bragg). He was honored to perform the ceremony for our couple. The Couple, with their sweet baby girl Cheyenne, choose a small family style wedding with a rustic theme."
Thank you Pearlice for sharing this intimate wedding and Suzette for sharing your love at first sight story. I just can't get enough of love stories and sharing them with my readers!
