Casey has shared their story and some great insight on being a military spouse, "We both have a love for San Diego, so deciding where to have the wedding was easy. He was stationed at Pendleton from 2006-2009. I am a California native who fell in love with the city while spending time there with my brother, who has been stationed in San Diego for most of his career in the Navy. Scott is from Washington and has 3 sisters. I am from Lompoc and have 4 brothers, 3 of which have served or are currently serving in different branches of the military. Scott began with the Marine Corps by joining ROTC at University of Idaho in 2001. He is currently a Captain and has since been on 2 deployments and has been stationed at Pendleton and Twenty-Nine Palms. We met on eharmony while he was stationed in the desert and I was attending law school.

How We Got Engaged! After some convincing by Scott, we headed up to one of our favorite getaway spots: Idyllwild, CA. After spending the morning walking around Pine Cove and a nice lunch in the afternoon, we headed back down the mountain. On the way down, Scott kept telling me he was pulling off the road to take some pictures of the area. After several pullovers, Scott pulled off the road just above Vista Point. After more convincing, we started walking down the side of the mountain. We took pictures, but I was pretty convinced Scott had gone insane. As I turned to head back up the mountain, Scott grabbed me, turned me around, and got down on one knee. He asked, I said yes! Scott held his breath as he put the ring on. Perfect fit! After getting past the initial shock and tears (I was entirely, completely, absolutely surprised at the proposal!), we spent the next hour or so walking around the lake at Vista Point. True to form, Scott popped the question on April Fool's Day! Yes, most people thought it was a joke!

Being married to a Marine is different, as is being in a relationship with anyone serving in the military. You make a commitment that only fellow military spouses can understand. With a deeper understanding of how precious every minute is, it changes who you are and how you love."

Thank you to Lauren for sharing their fun filled wedding! This was my first military wedding on the blog with a military groom in a kilt :)
