The NotWedding San Diego 2012

As mentioned before I had to share this amazing event call The NotWedding which Callie of Achor & Eden started in 2008. If you missed Callie previous post make sure you check it out here.

The NotWedding is an emotional ceremony, a sit-down dinner, and a dance-party reception - bridal show, yes, and nothing like any bridal show you'll ever go to. I attended the Atlanta, GA one and had so much fun. It's a great way for couples and vendors to mix and mingle, plus get inspired!

The inaugural NotWedding in 2008 was a hit, and it became an annual event in Atlanta. In 2011, Callie was joined by friend Michal Whitlock who helped take The NotWedding to the next level, even bringing the party to two new cities. For the 2013 events, Michal will continue to produce The NotWedding in Atlanta while NotWedding alum Krystel and her team at Couture Events will produce the event in San Diego and Los Angeles. This event being shared today was held on March 27 at The San Diego Air & Space Museum. Thank you to Callie for organizing such a unique event and to all the vendors for sharing their work.

{Baby} Brady

Get your tissues out for this one! This is the story of baby Brady and how he waited his "whole" life to meet his daddy. Amberly a very proud momma has shared this wonderful story! "My husband, LCpl Jonathan, deployed to Afghanistan when I was 33 weeks pregnant with our second child, his first son. Brady was born 6 weeks (April 20) after my husband left, and waited four months to officially meet his father in person. We also have a daughter, Anabelle (3), who was a big helper while daddy was "at work" for a really long time.  Brady and Tyler (Jonathan) finally met one another August 2012. It was not the easiest giving birth while my husband was deployed, but it was an experience that I will never forget and one that we can tell our son about in a few years. Now that Brady has met his daddy, he is his favorite person in the world. My son is now 8 months old and very happy and quite amazing.

My advice/words of wisdom to military wives/mommies going through similar situations would to of course try and keep busy to keep your mind from running terrifying thoughts, take as many pictures/videos as possible because even though your husband cannot be there he can still see all the changes and new steps from the pictures and videos. Last but not least, find a great support system within friends who are also part of the military experience.  Family is wonderful, but if they are anything like mine they have no clue what struggle you are going through, and another military wife knows just how you feel and will be by your side helping you fight the battles at home while your best friend is fighting for you over seas." Thank you to Amberly for sharing your personal photos.
*I warned you, who else is crying right now!?

Savannah Weddings for Warriors

Savannah Weddings for Warriors was founded in 2009 by the Savannah Wedding Tourism Council. The event provides free wedding ceremonies and vow renewals to active US Military personnel. Members of the Savannah Wedding Tourism Council joined with other businesses in the wedding, hospitality and tourism industries in the Savannah area to create individual ceremonies for each couple. The SWTC is composed of members from the wedding, tourism and hospitality industries in the Savannah, Georgia Area. Requirements for couples included that at least one, the bride or the groom, be active duty in the U.S. Military; Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard. Also qualified  were members of the National Guard and Reserve. This is a huge undertaking and a fantastic organization! Registration is now closed for W4W on Wednesday Jan. 16, 2013, but mark you can try for 2014. Here are some photos from previous years.
Jaimi Rickelman is photographed in Temple Mickve Israel prior to her W4W vow renewal with husband SSgt Mark Rickelman. The couple was married at a courthouse with two friends present. They tried to plan a wedding four times but each time deployments prevented a "real" ceremony.  Photo by Shannon Christopher

{Baby} Natalie

Veronica touched my heart with the most precious baby photos and I'm so excited that she is the very 1st photog of the baby posts! She lives in the Beaufort, SC area with her fiance who has been serving in the Marine Corps for ten years. You can find more of her work here Veronica Vinopal Photography. I hope to share more of her photography in the future. Thank you Veronica for sharing these photos.

Jessica and Jesse, the proud parents of baby Natalie, born November 2012, who is their third child, also have a son (the oldest) and another daughter. Jesse is part of the Aviation Department calibrating MALS-31 at MCAS in Beaufort and has been serving in the Marine Corps for 10 years. My favorite photo is Jessica's beautifully captured baby bump - gorgeous photography too. It's amazing to see the maternity image and then baby Natalie in her daddy's proud arms. Photographers get to capture such precious moments!
And now for the most adorable little baby photos!!

{Elopement} Nicole & Rees

This Charleston, SC Elopement is just too cute and sexy not to share! Nicole & Rees eloped in an intimate wedding with their closest friends and family. Their photos come to you from Britt Croft Photography who is a farm girl that lives in a small town of South Carolina with her husband, two yellow lab fur-kids, and three horses.

Nicole and Rees have quite the history and long lovy story. After dating in middle school, rekindling their romance in high school, going separate ways after graduation, then finding their way back to one another, they knew that they were destined to be together. Rees was stationed in Charleston with the Navy and Nicole at home in Florida, they were more than ready to start the next chapter of their lives in the same place and didn't want to wait any longer! So they choice to elope instead of having a wedding that was more of a production to them. Nicole looked gorgeous in her short wedding dress and high heels and Rees is swoon worthy in his Navy uniform. Check out that image of them by the water- HOT! Thank you Britt for sharing the photos!

Nicole and Rees added a puppy to their family so they had to contact Britt for another photo session but this time with their furbaby! Here is one photo from this portrait session but you can see more here
